Why I Started.

I have been dancing my whole life, since the age of three. I was not serious about dancing until 2015. I tried out for my school dance team, and did not make it, I was upset and started watching videos on youtube, where I found what I wanted to do. That was hip hop, and at that point in time I just wanted to try it, I ended up finding tutorials on youtube by Matt Steffanina. After begging and begging my mom to find a studio that did the style of hip hop I saw online, we found one. I went into that studio only knowing how to pick up choreography, no groove, no bounce, nothing of hip hop. I started to think "hey maybe I can be good at this" and just wanted to get better. I never took it serious until the Summer of 2017. Specifically because I always wanted and want to get better but I wanted more than just the one class a week that I had. I talked to my mom and

we decided we would try to go up to Chicago for classes a lot more often. Little did we know that we would end up driving 3 hours to Chicago almost every weekend after that. I told myself that if I wanted to be a professional dancer, that this is all I can focus on because I was no where near the ability of a professional dancer. I kept going to Chicago, Milwaukee, Indiana, Kansas City, etc. because I loved it. If I didn't love what I do, then I would not be doing it. That is my biggest "why" of my reason for dancing, simply I love it. It's who I am, it is my way of expressing myself, it allows me to be me no matter what anyone else says. Also, it allows me to connect with people of all ages, I can tell a story through my movement and people can relate to it. I am currently and continuously thinking of why and the reason I do the things I do, so who knows maybe in three months there will be another why for my dancing.
